About WhoIsBetter

Our mission

WhoIsBetter was built to settle the ultimate question between gamers: who is actually better? Instead of relying on opinions or gut feelings, we let the numbers decide. Our platform pulls real match data from official game APIs, runs it through a weighted comparison algorithm, and delivers a clear, data-driven verdict. Whether you are comparing yourself against a friend, checking how you stack up against a pro, or just curious about two random players, WhoIsBetter gives you an objective answer backed by stats.

What is WhoIsBetter?

WhoIsBetter is a free player comparison platform. Enter two player names, and we fetch their recent match stats from the official Riot Games API, compare them across multiple weighted categories, and generate an AI-powered verdict explaining who performs better and why. We currently support League of Legends.

What we analyze

WhoIsBetter is built entirely around League of Legends. Our comparison algorithm analyzes over 30 stats across combat, vision, economy and objectives from the last 15 ranked matches.

How our comparison algorithm works

Our League of Legends comparison engine fetches recent match data for both players, calculates per-game averages for every tracked stat, then compares them across weighted categories. Categories that matter more for determining overall skill carry higher weight. For example, KDA, winrate and damage per minute carry more weight than raw CS numbers. The player who wins more weighted categories wins the comparison. If the result is close, the AI factors in consistency, champion diversity and role-specific context to break the tie.

Fairness and accuracy

We take fairness seriously. In League of Legends, stats are normalized by role so a support player is not penalized for having lower CS than a mid laner. We only use recent match data to reflect current form rather than lifetime stats that may include years of casual play. All data comes directly from the official Riot Games API with no modifications or manual adjustments.

How does it work?

Enter the usernames of two League of Legends players and hit compare. Our platform queries the Riot Games API in real time, fetches match history and performance data, calculates averages per stat, runs the comparison algorithm, and generates an AI verdict explaining the result. The whole process takes a few seconds. Results are cached for 24 hours so repeat comparisons load instantly.

Community features

WhoIsBetter is more than a comparison tool. Our WIB Rating system gives League of Legends players a competitive ranking based on comparison results, with seasonal leaderboards and tiers from Rookie to Sovereign. Competitions let players enter ladder-style tournaments where everyone is compared round-robin and the best performers win prizes. The challenge system lets you generate a personal link so anyone can compare themselves against you. And the matchmaking feature pairs you with opponents of similar skill level for quick comparisons.

For content creators

Streamers and content creators can embed a WhoIsBetter widget directly into their OBS stream or website. The overlay shows your profile with a QR code so viewers can scan it and instantly compare their stats against yours. It is a great way to engage your audience and drive interaction during streams. You can customize the theme, accent color, and queue type to match your brand.

Stats we analyze

We compare over 30 stats in League of Legends. The six main categories are KDA, CS/min, winrate, vision score, kill participation and damage per minute, alongside advanced metrics for combat, objectives, vision, teamwork, economy, consistency and early/late game performance.

Always free

Comparing players on WhoIsBetter is and will always be free. You do not need an account to run a comparison. Creating an account unlocks additional features like WIB Rating, personal profiles, leaderboards and the ability to link your game accounts, but the core comparison tool requires nothing but two player names.

Supported regions

For League of Legends, we support all major Riot Games regions: LAN, LAS, NA, EUW, EUNE, BR, KR, JP, OCE, TR and RU. You can compare players from different servers.

Frequently asked questions

Is WhoIsBetter free?+

Yes, completely free. You do not need to create an account or pay anything to compare players. All core features are available to everyone.

Where does the data come from?+

All data comes from the official Riot Games API for League of Legends. We never fabricate or modify stats.

How accurate are the comparisons?+

Comparisons are based entirely on real match data and use weighted algorithms tailored to League of Legends. The analysis considers role normalization, recent form, and consistency. While no stat-based comparison can capture everything that happens in a game, our approach provides the most objective measurement possible.

Can I compare players from different regions?+

Yes, in League of Legends you can compare players from any region against each other.

What is WIB Rating?+

WIB Rating is our own competitive ranking system for League of Legends. Every comparison you participate in affects your rating. Win and you gain points, lose and you drop. The system runs on seasonal cycles with tiers from Rookie to Sovereign and prizes for top performers.

How does the AI verdict work?+

After calculating the statistics, an AI model analyzes the full data set and generates a written verdict explaining each player's strengths and weaknesses. It considers context like role differences, consistency, and how close the matchup was to produce a fair and detailed explanation.
