Timing matters more than you think
Most players focus on champions, runes and mechanics to climb. But there is something almost nobody considers: what time they are playing. Queuing ranked at 4 PM on a Tuesday is not the same as 3 AM on a Saturday. The skill level of players online, matchmaking quality and even your own mental state change depending on the time.
We wanted to put numbers behind that. That is how Best time to play ranked was born.
What does the tool show?
We analyzed over 35,000 ranked matches from our community and grouped them by hour and day of the week. The results:
- Win rate by hour: a chart showing which hours have the highest win percentage.
- KDA by hour: a line showing how average performance changes throughout the day.
- Win rate by day: which days of the week have more wins.
- Games distribution: what hours people play the most.
Hours are shown in your local timezone, so what you see applies directly to you.
What did we find?
Without spoiling the exact numbers (go check them yourself), there are clear patterns:
- Off-peak hours tend to have better win rates. Fewer people online means less autofills and more balanced matches.
- Peak hours have faster queues but more skill variance.
- There are days of the week where wins are consistently higher than others.
How can I use this?
- Find your best time slots: If you have schedule flexibility, pick the hours with the best win rate.
- Avoid the worst hours: If you see win rates dropping at certain hours, maybe play normals or ARAM instead.
- Build a routine: Players who play at the same hours consistently tend to perform better because their body adapts.
What about my personal data?
For now the data is global from our entire community, focused on LAN and LAS. We are working on a personalized version where you will be able to see your own win rate by hour based on your match history. You will need your LoL account linked for that.
